V&A
The V&A is the world’s greatest museum of art and design, but its image in recent years had been growing tired, and negative public perceptions prevailed. We have been working with the museum since 2002 to address this problem. We began by repositioning the membership scheme, and then developed a programme to refresh the visual identity and create a clear brand positioning and internal communications strategy based around the idea of ‘inspiring creativity through knowledge’
The museum-wide culture change programme continues, ensuring that the brand idea is expressed in everything the museum does, creating a visitor experience that never fails to delight.
Already membership has increased by over 50%, visitor numbers have exceeded 2 million and recent exhibitions such as Vivienne Westwood and Leonardo da Vinci have attracted both record crowds and critical acclaim.
“The V&A has undergone an extraordinary transformation over the last five years and is now recognised as the world’s number one museum of art and design. Jane Wentworth and her team played a vital role in the Museum’s renaissance, working with and consulting staff at all levels so that ownership of the brand is felt throughout the organisation. The V&A is buzzing, confident, ambitious and successful. Jane Wentworth Associates has played a major part in making this happen.”
